Isolation 2020
This series was focused on isolation. I wanted to evoke a sense of sadness but also a sense of nostalgia and familiarity. The title foreshadows the times when quarantine and lockdown felt so prominent and normal in society. When the streets felt abandoned and the silence was louder than ever. No kids playing in the streets or voices in the distance. Just the sound of wind and car alarms. These images also foreshadow a sense of time and abandonment. Things that are left behind yet have so many memories and stories behind them. Like a rusted basketball hoop for example; what young kids dreams of being in the NBA started on this basket when he made his first three pointer a decade ago. A baby seat on the side of the street. What terrible thing led to a baby seat being abandoned. As much as some of these photos evoke sadness, I hope they also allow you to see things deeper than just objects as everything in this beautiful life can tell us a story.
NATURAL CRYSTALS
This series explores the intricate beauty of water droplets on plants through meticulous close-up photography. My goal was to capture the details of each droplet, highlighting the way water transforms into something that resembles tiny crystals or polished glass. I wanted to reveal a world that often goes unnoticed and is sometimes hard to capture through the human eye. Through this series, I want to encourage viewers to appreciate the elegance and complexity of nature.
UNCONDITIONAL
This photography series captures the subtle interactions between a couple that I saw on the beach one night beneath a beautiful violet-pink sky. The images begin with them taking out their phones to admire and photograph the sunset, and ending with a quiet embrace as they stand together, gazing at the sky above them. I wanted to create the feeling that they were the only two people in the world at that moment. By photographing them as dark silhouettes against the vibrant colours of the sky, I was able to draw attention to both their connection and the beauty of the landscape surrounding them. I really wanted to capture the intamacy of this special moment.
